To detect devices connected to a network, the WiFi Guard application scans it by sending requests to it. As a rule, message recipients respond automatically by forwarding network packets with information about themselves back to the sender. Thus, the administrator or owner of the network becomes the owner of such information about all devices connected to it, such as the name, network or IP address, activity statistics by the clock, as well as the physical address of the adapter (MAC), which, moreover, points to chip manufacturer.
The scanner settings allow you to set the frequency of the above operation. The maximum allowable interval is sixty minutes. In addition, the program provides tools for sending information about unknown connections using e-mail messages.
The SoftPerfect WiFi Guard interface is easy to learn and is a stylized window with a small number of shortcut buttons for functions. The main work area is occupied by a table with information about known and unknown devices, which can be retrieved at any time as an XML file.
